THE BLACK BOOK
A feature doc in development
In the summer of 2025, a stolen Old Master painting surfaced in Argentina in a real estate listing — hanging on the wall of a Nazi official's daughter, eighty years after it was looted from the collection of Jewish art dealer Jacques Goudstikker. What followed was an international investigation, criminal arrests, and a live legal battle over ownership that is still unresolved.

The Black Book is a 90-minute documentary feature in development that uses this discovery as the entry point into one of the most consequential unresolved injustices of the postwar era — the systematic theft of Jewish cultural heritage, and the decades of legal obstruction and institutional resistance that have kept it that way.
Structured as a detective thriller and built around exclusive access to all sides of the story, the film moves between Amsterdam, Buenos Aires, and the United States, between 1940 and now, asking who is responsible for answering for what was stolen — and how much time remains to do so.
